Andrew Macdonald has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and regional tourism as owner/operator of the Hotel Nelson and Little Nel Café in Nelson Bay and more recently the Signal Box restaurant in Newcastle.

Andrew served on the Board of Destination Port Stephens for ten years including almost five years as Chairman. During this time Andrew was involved in the development of the new Incredible by Nature brand for the destination and in setting the strategic direction to drive visitation to build a vibrant and sustainable visitor economy which contributes to creating jobs and driving investment.

Prior to going into business, Andrew was National General Manager of Operators of Best Western Hotels overseeing over 250 hotels and motels.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business in Tourism and a Masters in Marketing from the University of Newcastle.
